Shooting Training Pistol Basic Level

Course description

The participant learns the tactical combat shooting.

This includes the four basic skills of shooting. There is the safe handling of the gun. Handling of the pistol / service pistol in a 360° environment. The control over the withdrawal of the weapon and the tactical correction of any possibly occurring weapons malfunction. In the seminar, readiness and safety positions as well as the achievement of control positions are taught.

These tactics make it difficult for a criminal / an assassin / a terrorist to complete an attack.

This course is recommended for beginners and shooters without previous Modern Isosceles training.

Preparations

Theory:

  • The 4 safety rules for the safe handling of firearms

  • The Seven Principles of Self-Defense  (Jeff Cooper)

  • Mindset (mental readiness to fight).

Practice:

  • Putting on holsters and magazine bags

Practical shooting education

Seminar: Defense Pistol P1

  • The 4 basic skills of shooting

  • The modified Modern Isocecles - basic position, weapons attitude and movement sequences

  • The 4-phase draw weapon movement

  • Determination of the dominant eye - a test

  • Natural Point of Aim / NPOA - (The natural target point)

  • Correct gun handling and trigger control

  • The 2 Eyes on Target Shooting Principle (shooting with both eyes open)

  • Dot drill without time limit

  • OODA Loop - (Col. John Boyd's - Cycle)

  • Standby and backup positions with the firearm

 

  • Use, handling the gun in a 360° environment

  • Robust and stress-resistant weapon handling, loading and reloading, loading status control

  • Shooting rhythm and the development of fast shooting sequences

  • Target identification and firing of various targets at different distances 25m / 20m / 15m / 10m / 7m / 5m / 3m

  • Fast and accurate elimination of the threat from 0 to 25 meters

  • Recognizing and eliminating weapons disruptions

  • Change from standard shooting position - standing - kneeling - squatting - lying - covering - positions

  • Shoot out of the cover and screen

  • Ambidextrous / one-handed shooting on very uneven ground

  • Shooting from the movement

  • One-handed shooting with the strong hand

  • One-handed shooting with the weak hand

  • Pistol 50m targets

  • Triple threat pistol drill

Evaluation

  • Shot image evaluation and error analysis

  • Pistol cleaning: disassembling, cleaning, assembling the weapon

  • Equipment: a holster, magazine pouches, shooting glasses, hearing protection, a lamp, ammunition

  • An evening grill/ dinner together/cool down

Equipment

Seminar: Defense Pistol P1

The equipment must be provided by the participant himself.

 

Weapons and technology:

  • Short weapon from caliber 9x19mm Para;

  • normal metal sight or red dot sight

  • 800 rounds of factory ammunition.

Equipment:

  • Minimum 3 magazines, magazine pouches, or magazine holster

  • A matching holster for the strong hand side for the respective pistol

  • Members of government agencies or security services may use the official mission holster. (IPSC speed holsters are not allowed)
