Shooting Training with Pistol and Shotgun

Course description

In a firefight, there may be different reasons for a quick change of weapons - the transition. For example, due to the lack of ammunition, a not quickly eliminated weapon malfunction or the lack of space because it is located in a narrow building.

SL (Self loading) shotgun and pump action shotgun are used in the tactical field, the seminar participant will be trained on both systems in this seminar.

Requirement

This seminar builds on the P3 Master Pistol / C3 Master Shotgun Course. Successfully completed HRT seminars are required:

  • Master Shotgun SG3 

  • Master Pistol P3 

 

This seminar is suitable for professional shooters with Modern Isosceles training.

Preparations

Theory:

  • The 4 safety rules for the safe handling of firearms

  • Mindset (mental readiness to fight)

Practice:

  • Fixing the holster / thigh holster, magazine pouches, knee pads, gloves, chest righ, if available, a sling, a flashlight, a radio / headset

  • Handling the radio and the headset: The instructor commands in this seminar are done via the radio (R). The HRT Academy will make them available to the seminar participants free of charge for the seminar.

  • Partial tactical gloves are used in the master seminars

Practical shooting education

Seminar: 2 Gun Master Dynamic Defense Combo - Pistol / Shotgun

  • Closed eyes pistol - shotgun and mag loading - unloading-  drill 

  • Correct bending and trigger control - shotgun/pistol - dot drill without time limit

  • Detecting and eliminating weapon disruptions, malfunctions, stress in various positions - shotgun to pistol transition - drill - (R) 

  • Closed eyes malfunctions eliminating pistol / shotgun

  • Eyes closed pistol to shotgun transition - drill - (R)

  • Transition chaos, proactive reload, reactive reload, injured reload, emergency reload - drill - (R)

  • One-armed shooting and weapon manipulation pistol / shotgun and continuation of defense after a wound - (R)

  • Transition - fast multiple target shooting. Shooting from free and assisted positions to different targets at different distances - (R)

  • Shooting multiple targets in special positions - SBU prone - reverse rollover - supine- broke back prone - (R) 

  • Double trouble - drill (Joe Betge) - shotgun to pistol/pistol to shotgun transition

  • Close quarter gun fight - range 0-3m transition from unarmed self-defense to weapon use- double transition - (R)

  • Last chance - drill (Joe Betge) - shotgun to pistol transition - (R)

  • Weapon access - shotgun to pistol transition in the ongoing confrontation - (R)

  • Last man standing - (Joe Betge) - shotgun to pistol to shotgun transition - drill - (R)

  • Close quarter - shotgun/pistol shooting - range 0-2m transition from unarmed self-defense to weapon use - shotgun/pistol - (R)

  • Pistol shotgun chaos - drill

  • Shotgun to pistol transition 1.2.3. drill - (R)

  • No mercy drill - (Joe Betge) - (R) 

Evaluation

  • Shot image evaluation and error analysis

  • Weapon cleaning: disassembling, cleaning, assembling the weapon

  • Equipment: a holster, magazine pouches, shooting glasses, hearing protection, a lamp, ammunition

  • Cool down/an evening BBQ / dinner together

Equipment

Seminar: 2 Gun Master Dynamic Defense Combo - Pistol / Carbine 

The equipment must be provided by the participant himself.

 

Weapons and technology:

  • Pistol from 9x19 Para - normal metal sight or red point sight / iron sight or red dot - pistol 500 shot - factory ammunition 

  • Shotgun /repeater shotgun, semi-automatic shotgun cal. 12/70 - 12/76 - steel sights / or red dot optics (magnification not essential)

  • Shotgun - 250 slugs - 150 trap - 150 buckshot (00), factory ammunition

  • Normal metal sight or red point sight / iron sight or red dot pistol

Equipment:

  • Minimum 4 magazines per weapon / magazine pouch 

  • Weapon sling. The best would be a 2 point or 3 point sling. 

  • Knee pads. Who likes can also use elbow pads. 

  • Chest righ if available

  • Range bag, a backpack, a bipod, or similar as a weapon pad 

  • Flashlight with trouser clip or holster and a sturdy safety leash for the wrist

  • Attention! Your clothing can get wet and dirty
